The Highway Patrol reports two individuals sustained injuries in separate accidents on Highway 11 seven miles east of Kirksville Friday morning caused by ice.

A private vehicle transported 20-year-old Tyler Findling of Greentop to the Northeast Regional Medical Center of Kirksville after the first accident around 6 o’clock.

Findling drove a pickup truck east on Highway 11 before it struck a patch of ice, ran off the right side of the road, struck a drainage ditch, became airborne, and came to rest on the road, totaled.

An ambulance transported 22-year-old Brenna Thelen of Baring to the Northeast Regional Medical Center following a second accident at approximately 11 o’clock.

She traveled east in a car before it struck a patch of ice, ran off the right side of the road, struck a drainage ditch, and became disabled. The car received moderate damage.

The Patrol reports both drivers wore seat belts, and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office assisted with both crashes. The Adair County Ambulance provided assistance with the second.
