The Highway Patrol reports a Morris, Illinois resident sustained minor injuries when the car she drove lost control in Harrison County on Friday afternoon due to icy conditions.

An ambulance transported 19-year-old Brooklyn Edwards to the Harrison County Community Hospital.

The car traveled north on Interstate 35 and reportedly tried to pass another vehicle near the 104-mile marker before losing control, running off the west side of the road into the median, and striking the ground. The car rotated counterclockwise and came to rest on its wheels facing south in the median with minor damage.

Edwards wore a seat belt at the time of the crash.
