Highway 65 communities within the KTTN listening area are on the reported traveling route for the 23rd annual Hot Rod Power Tour.

Promoters say the seven-day, seven-city journey can be expected to collectively have more than 6,000 vehicles and 100,000-plus spectators from June 10th to the 16th.

The tour leaves Arrowhead at the Blue Ridge Cutoff in Kansas City at 7:30 am Sunday, June 11 and travels all day to the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

The website shows the route for the local area involves Highway 24 to Carrollton where it turns north onto U.S. Highway 65 through Chillicothe, Trenton, Spickard, Princeton, Mercer and to Highway 34 at Lucas in southern Iowa where it then goes east and north eventually arriving Sunday night in Newton, Iowa.

The tour resumes Monday morning on Interstate 80.

In addition to Newton, Iowa – the tour continues with other overnight stops at locations in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, before concluding one week from Friday at Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The tour website does not show the parade of vehicles stopping at any of the local communities.
