The highway patrol reports a 33-year old Bethany resident, Tracy Friend, received minor injuries in a Saturday night traffic accident, four miles south of Bethany.
The patrol reports Harrison County Community Hospital called law enforcement to report the accident when Friend sought treatment on Sunday.
The patrol reports Friend as saying the accident occurred as he was southbound on Highway 13 in a sport utility vehicle and hit an unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle left the scene, and he attempted to locate it.
Tracy Friend did not report the accident to law enforcement.
The SUV had moderate damage and Friend was wearing a seat belt.
