The Highway Patrol reports a Kirksville woman sustained moderate injuries when a car struck a pickup truck south of Lancaster Friday night.
The pickup, driven by 58-year-old David Jonaitis of Livonia, had reportedly stopped on northbound U. S. Highway 63 to attempt to make a left turn when the northbound car, driven by 23-year-old Angela Meinberg of Kirksville, hit the rear of the truck. Both vehicles were totaled.
An ambulance transported Meinberg to Northeast Regional Medical Center of Kirksville. The Patrol reports Jonaitis did not sustain any injuries, with both drivers reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, First Responders, and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
