There is good news for those who use the U.S. Route 36 interchange at Interstate 35 in Cameron.

Contractors from Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to open both lanes in each direction to all traffic at the interchange after a bridge deck replacement project. Traffic has been head to head at that location since August and turning was restricted due to median closures.

Motorists are asked to continue to exercise caution as crews may still be present performing routine work and occasional lane closures may occur. Painting the new bridge, which will protect and preserve it, will happen in the spring.
