Good news for Chariton County as crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation were able to reopen both lanes of U.S. Route 24 and Route 5 east of Brunswick Monday morning after floodwaters receded and the roadway was cleared. A portion U.S. Route 24 to the west of Brunswick between Routes 11 and 41 remains closed.

Several area roadways remain closed due to flooding including Route 41 to Miami and U.S. Route 65 south of Carrollton. Please consult the Traveler Information Map to see other flooded roadways and plan your route.
