The Grundy County Commission will open Board of Equalization meetings on Monday, July 18th.  Persons who wish to meet with the five-member board to discuss assessment letters have two things to do first.

Visit with the Grundy County Assessors’ office on the first floor of the Courthouse to discuss the assessed valuation issue.  The phone number is 359-4040, extension 2.

If not satisfied with results, persons then can visit the county clerks’ office on the second floor of the Courthouse to arrange to have a hearing before the board of equalization.  That phone number is 359 4040, extension 4.

It’s noted paperwork involving any request for a hearing will need to be filed with the county clerk by July 11th. That will be one week, or more, prior to the actual hearing. The board of equalization includes the three county commissioners and two citizens.
