The Highway Patrol reports a car struck the rear of a school bus on Thursday afternoon in Harrison County – injuring the driver of the car and two of the students who were passengers on the bus.  Injuries were described as serious for 18 year old Dillon Glenn of Bethany. He was flown by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

Two girls, 11 year old Calli Bumgarner and 15 year old Cassidie Bumgarner – both of Bethany – were taken by private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital, with injuries reported to be minor in nature.

The driver of the school bus was 60 year old Joel Stratton of Bethany (who was not hurt).

An investigator reported the westbound bus on Highway 136 was slowing to unload a child after school (3:50 pm) when the bus was struck from behind by the car. Troopers noted the bus had its flashing amber lights activated.

The car was demolished. Moderate damage was noted to the school bus.

The driver of the car, Dillon Glenn, was not using a seat belt according to the accident report.  The accident was on Highway 136, one quarter mile west of Route BB.
