Two members of the Trenton FFA Chapter, Hannah Persell and Emily Kasinger, have been selected to be among students attending the Missouri Agribusiness Academy in Springfield.  Hannah and Emily will join 28 other sophomores from across the state in the week-long event in June.

The academy focuses on Missouri agribusiness, leadership, and developing young advocates for the ag industry.  The pair from Trenton High School were selected from hundreds of applicants across the state to join the 30 member class.

The 2016 Academy will tour agribusinesses, explore educational opportunities and meet with agricultural leaders in the Springfield area from June 6th to June 10th.  The students will end their week with a graduation ceremony at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City.

Since 1988, the Missouri Agribusiness Academy has awarded more than 800 academy memberships through a competitive application and interview process.  To be eligible for the academy, students must come from a farming family or be an active member of the National FFA Organization or 4-H.

Emily Kasinger is the daughter of Kevin and Jerri Kasinger and Hannah Persell is the daughter of Shane and Anna Persell.
