Hamilton Police Department responds to 121 calls the first 2 weeks of August

During the first week of August, Hamilton Police Officers took approximately 70 calls for service, 8 reports, affected 5 arrests, and conducted 9 traffic stops issuing 4 citations.

On August 1, Officer took a report of a motor vehicle accident, where a white or silver vehicle backed into another vehicle and left the scene in the 100 block of N. Davis. Investigation continues. Any information is helpful in this investigation.

On August 2, Officers responded to a theft. After further investigation, Officers arrested a 46-year-old male for the theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was processed and later transported to Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 2, Officer arrested a 55-year-old male in the 100 block of W. School on a probation violation on original charge of domestic assault and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. The male was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 3, Officers responded to the 700 block of S. Hughes Street in reference to a theft. It was discovered that the male was confused and disoriented. Officers of Hamilton PD, Caldwell County EMS, and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted the male home safely.

On August 4, an Officer conducted a traffic stop in reference to a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, it was found that a 59-year-old female did not have current registration and possessed a Buchanan County Arrest warrant for child neglect. The female was later cited for failure to register a motor vehicle and arrested on the Buchanan County arrest warrant. She was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 5, Officer arrested a 39-year-old male in the 100 block of W. School on a probation violation on original charge of possession of a controlled substance. The male was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 6, Officers responded to the 100 block of N. Davis in reference to a counterfeit $20 bill. This investigation continues.

On August 7, Officers responded to the 300 block of W. School Street in reference to an assault. As a result of the investigation, Officers arrested a 19-year-old male for assault. The male was later transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center. This investigation continues in reference to contributing alcohol to a minor.

During the second week of August, Hamilton Police Officers took approximately 51 calls for service, 7 reports, affected 6 arrests, and conducted 5 traffic stops issuing.

On August 8, Officers responded to E. Berry in reference to a medical call. Upon arrival, Officer assisted Caldwell County EMS with a male needing medical attention.

On August 9, Officers responded to the 100 block of S. Hughes Street in reference to illegal burning. The individual was warned and the fire was put out.

On August 10, Officers responded to the intersection of N. Davis and Samuel in reference to an abandoned vehicle that was a traffic hazard. After further investigation, the vehicle was towed and the owner was located. A 53-year-old male was arrested for driving a motor vehicle without a license. The male was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center and also issued citations for illegally parking a motor vehicle, operating without insurance, and failing to register a motor vehicle.

On August 10, Officers arrested a 51-year-old male in the 100 block of W. School on a DeKalb County arrest warrant for a bond violation on original charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid License. The male was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 10, Officers conducted an arrest and discovered after further investigation a report of forgery by a male on bond supervision. The male was attempting to use another person’s urine to pass a urine test. Charges are being sent to the Caldwell County Prosecuting Attorney Brady Kopek.

On August 11, Officers arrested a 45-year-old female on a Dekalb County arrest warrant for a bond violation on the original charge of possession of controlled substance. The female was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 12, Officers responded to N. Gallatin and W. Samuel and assisted in locating a minor child. The child was located and released to a family member.

On August 13, Officers responded to the 700 block of W. McGaughey in reference to a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, a male was arrested for domestic assault. He was later transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

On August 13, Officers assisted Missouri State Highway Patrol at an accident scene.

On August 14, Officers responded to the 700 block of S. Hughes in reference to a motor vehicle accident that caused extensive damage to a building. We were assisted by the Hamilton Fire Department.

The Hamilton Police Officers have been busy conducting business checks, conducting traffic enforcement, and community relations.

Our Back to School Safety Fair went over well. The kiddos dunked multiple police officers and the mayor. We handed out many prizes and met some awesome kiddos and parent.
