The Highway Patrol reports a Hale woman sustained moderate injuries when the vehicle she drove swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway on Tuesday morning and ran off the road near Hale.
Emergency medical services transported 69-year-old Betty Fleener to the Carroll County Memorial Hospital of Carrollton.
The vehicle traveled west on Route J before it crossed the center of the road east of County Road 311, ran off the left side, struck a ditch, and came to rest.
The vehicle received moderate damage and reports indicate Fleener wore a seat belt.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of the crash.
