A resident of the Hale community was hurt Friday morning when the car he was driving traveled off Highway 139 and hit a tree just south of Bosworth in Carroll county.
24-year-old Dillon McCracken of Hale was transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital at Carrollton with serious injuries.
The accident happened as the car was southbound on Highway 139 when it went off the left side of the road and struck a tree demolishing the vehicle.
McCracken was not wearing a seatbelt.
