Lunch prices will increase for the coming academic year in the Grundy R-5 school district.
At a board of education meeting Thursday evening, members approved a ten-cent increase in the cost of student and adult lunches for the 2017-18 school year. The lunches at the elementary school in Humphreys will cost $2.30.
Lunch prices at the junior high/high school level, and for adults, will be $2.40.
The board accepted the resignation of first-grade teacher Jessica Golden.
It was announced the elementary building received a $500 grant to aid in completing a fencing project around the playground area. Other grant opportunities are being investigated.
The Grundy R-5 Board approved the student handbook for the next academic year; continued participation in the A-plus incentive program; new board policies and updates.
It tabled action after reviewing bids last evening for replacing the furnaces in the new gymnasium of the high school.
Grundy R-5’s board of education has scheduled a special meeting toward the end of this month to amend the current fiscal year budget and to approve the 2017-18 budget.
This meeting begins at 5:30 the evening of June 29 at the high school in Galt.
