The Grundy County R-5 Board of Education on Monday evening approved fully paid insurance next year.
The insurance will have a $6,500 health savings account deductible and be at a rate of $555 per person per month. The vote came after a review of insurance options through the Ozarks Schools Benefits Association. A health fair for Grundy R-5 staff was approved, and the board agreed to pay for the basic health screening at a rate of $19 per person.
High School Principal William Dow reported on a proposal to move the sixth-grade classroom to the high school next year, and the proposal was approved. Also approved was the fifth and sixth-grade graduation at the elementary school on May 11th.
The board approved a proposal by Art Teacher Trisha Sharp to paint a mural on a wall of the high school.
The lowest of five bids was approved for mowing at the high school and elementary school. It was submitted by Chris Novak for $180 per mowing.
A transportation report was presented on the bus inspection. Three buses passed, and two buses needed minor repairs to pass.
After a closed session, it was announced the board approved the employment for the 2020-2021 school year of Grundy R-5 tenured and non-tenured certified staff members, with the exception of Fifth and Sixth Grade Teacher Erma Newton.
