Grundy R-5 Board of Education approves copier machine bid

The Grundy County R-5 Board of Education approved a bid on Thursday evening for the leasing of copiers. The chosen bid was from Marco of Chillicothe at $521 per month for four machines for five years. Ricoh and Xerox also submitted bids.

The board approved the letting of audit bids for the 2019-2020 audit. Bid proposals are to be opened at the February meeting.

Options were discussed for the 2020-2021 school calendar. The board directed the administration to prepare a calendar with an extended school day and give a report at the February meeting.

A report was given regarding the Grundy R-5 Board of Education candidates for the April election. Three positions are up for election, and incumbents Donnie Fordyce and Abe Carver have filed.

After a closed session, it was announced the board approved Jandie Peterson to be the Belcher Scholarship nominee for the Missouri School Boards Association. Elementary and high school principals were evaluated and offered contracts for the 2020-2021 school year. Their salaries are to be determined at a later date.
