Grundy R-5’s board of education has approved the calendar for the next school year.

Classes begin August 17th. Following a closed session for personnel and certified teacher evaluations last night, the board voted to offer all certified probationary staff contracts for the 2017-18 school year.

During the meeting last night held at the elementary school in Humphreys,

Sullivan County Commissioners made an informational presentation to the board regarding the special road tax levy issue that will be on the April 4th ballot.

The school board accepted mowing bids from Dustin Etter of Trenton: $90 per mowing at the elementary building and $30 per mowing for the high school. Four mowing bids were submitted.

The board approved to pay for a portion of an employee’s expenses for blood work done during the wellness fair this spring. The cost is 19 dollars per employee.
