A date this Summer has been selected for an annual fundraiser in Trenton to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Grundy County Relay for Life is scheduled August 27th from 4 o’clock until 10 o’clock at the Trenton Middle School drive.
An informational meeting to make further plans for Relay for Life is scheduled June 14th at 6 o’clock that evening at the Trenton Middle School.
Ways to get involved include starting or joining a team, participation in cancer survivor activities, purchase of luminaria, make a donation, and / or attend the Relay for Life August 27th. Members of each team take turns walking around the track. Food, games and activities provide entertainment for the evening. The events are open to the public, not just team members.
Persons who wish to get involved are invited to attend the planning meeting June 14th. If not, Sarah Freyman is the American Cancer Society community manager of Relay for Life. She previously worked as assistant director of Hope Lodge in Kansas City. She can be contacted by email: sarah.freyman@cancer.org
