The Grundy County Health Department will partner with Cleaver Dermatology to offer free skin cancer screenings next month.

A physician will examine specific skin spots patients have identified as concerns during the screenings at the health department in Trenton May 9th from 10 o’clock in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon. The screenings will not be a full body exam and do not replace thorough dermatologic exams.

The Grundy County Health Department notes skin spots that might constitute concern include those that have an asymmetrical shape, borders that are irregular or poorly defined, color that is varied, a diameter greater than a pencil eraser, and are evolving moles or skin lesions by changing in size, shape, or color.

Those wishing to participate are encouraged to call the health department at 660-359-4196 to schedule an appointment.
