The Grundy County Commission approved Coronavirus Relief Fund allocations for three entities the morning of Tuesday, October 13th.
The Grundy County Senior Tax Board was approved for $1,152.62 for COVID-19-related expenses. A pre-approval was granted for $2,800 for HVAC air purifiers at the North 65 Center. Laredo R-7 was approved for $6,395.75 in funding.
Presiding Commissioner Phillip Ray and County Clerk Betty Spickard will participate in a virtual meeting with BKD consultants the afternoon of Wednesday, October 14th at 1 o’clock. BKD is the firm handling the guidance and oversight of Coronavirus Relief Funds for the State of Missouri. The meeting will cover internal controls and review the grant process and funding to sub-recipients.
The Grundy County Commission has sent out a request for proposals seeking prospective candidate companies to design and oversee a 911 communications build-out of a digital, multicast four site system and, as an alternative, an analog simulcast four site system. The RFP only covers the design and oversight functions. Actual system costs are to be detailed in the design documents.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Martin Chapman, First District Commissioner Don Sager, and Emergency Management Director Glen Briggs met with the Federal Emergency Management Agency at the Berry Bridge in the Meyers Township Thursday, October 8th. A draft provided by FEMA shows about 1,600 to 1,700 cubic yards of material or about 2,300 to 2,500 tons of material to be used for a project. The Howe Company will be used to provide a cost estimate for the project. Any fees incurred by the Howe Company in the estimate of materials are considered to be eligible expenses.
