The Grundy County Commission accepted bids for CART rock and trash service.

Bids were approved from Trager Limestone and Norris Quarries for the CART rock for township and Road and Bridge Department needs. The prices range from $10.75 to $15 per ton and vary by size. Townships can choose which business to use.

Advanced Disposal’s bid of $75.00 per site per month was approved for trash service at the Grundy County Courthouse and Road and Bridge Department Barn. There will be one trash pick up per week. It was the only bid received.

Bids were to be opened for concrete to be delivered to various bridge construction sites in Grundy County for this year, but no bids were received. The commission will rebid for the concrete and put outbid notices for metal and double wall plastic culverts and fuel. The bids for concrete, culverts, and fuel are due to the county clerk’s office by the morning of April 7th (9 fuel, 9:30 culverts, 10 concrete). The bids may be received by mail. The county clerk’s office may be contacted for more information on the road culvert and fuel bids at 660-359-4040 extension 4.

Presiding Commissioner Phillip Ray reported the commission will hold abbreviated meetings at the courthouse Tuesdays until further notice. The meetings will start at 8:30 in the morning and end when business is completed.

The commission has been involved in daily briefings with the Grundy County Emergency Management, Health Department, and Ambulance regarding COVID-19. Federal Emergency Management Agency site inspections are taking place regarding flooding last year.

Commissioner Don Sager noted county employees will be paid as normal and on time this month.
