The Green Hills Animal Shelter in Trenton will be open by appointment only effective immediately and until further notice.
The shelter notes it made this decision because COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Livingston and Harrison counties, and the shelter wants to protect the community, its staff, and its volunteers. Appointments will limit the number of people in the shelter building at one time.
The policy will apply to adoptions, surrenders, found animals, lost animal searches, and claims. Available animals and adoption applications can be found prior to appointments on the Green Hills Animal Shelter website. Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Saturday from 1 to 5 o’clock by calling the Green Hills Animal Shelter at 660-359-2700.
