Grand River Historical Society to present program on Main Street Chillicothe

Information on Main Street Chillicothe will be the focus of a program when the Grand River Historical Society meets at the Chillicothe Elks Lodge Tuesday, October 11th.

Dinner is at 6:30 and the program at 7:30.  The program will be presented by Micah Landes and Ben White with Main Street Chillicothe.  The presentation is to include the 15-year history of Main Street Chillicothe and their activities to improve the downtown area.

Main Street Chillicothe is currently working with city officials on ordinances to preserve buildings in the two downtown Historic Districts, the Courthouse Square District and the Commercial District.

A Powerpoint presentation is to show buildings deemed important in preserving the history of downtown Chillicothe. It also outlines recent successes including the amount of downtown investment, the number of employees, new businesses and the reduction in vacant buildings over the past fifteen years.

The October 11th dinner will consist of Fish and Chicken Strips costs $10.
