The Grand River Area Family YMCA and the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors Chillicothe’s Second Annual Spring Home and Garden Show this weekend.
The show is free to attend, and it will be held in the gym of the YMCA in Chillicothe Friday evening from 4 to 7 o’clock and Saturday from 9 o’clock in the morning to 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
Christian Outreach Director of the YMCA Shawn Hurtgen tells there will be multiple vendors, direct sales, and gardeners at the show. Some are new and some will be returning.
She says the Chillicothe FCCLA will demonstrate how to make outdoor furniture cushions. She adds that Lowe’s plans to bring a Sherwin-Williams representative to talk about staining and painting as well as a fencing expert.
Groups also plan to sell food inside and outside during the show.
Hurtgen says there will be special activities planned for children as part of Healthy Kids Day Saturday from 10 o’clock to noon. She notes the fire and police departments will be available to talk to children. There will also be bounce houses, healthy snacks, and face painting.
Hurtgen believes last year’s show went well, which is one reason it was extended from one day to two.
