Wright Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome general surgeon, Andrew Johnson, M.D., to the medical team. Dr. Johnson provides general surgery services to patients of all ages and has expertise in a variety of surgical procedures, including minimally invasive procedures. He will be joining Dr. Andrea Hufford in providing surgical services at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, beginning September 1.
Prior to joining Wright Memorial, Dr. Johnson worked for Crossroads Physicians Corporation in Mount Vernon, Illinois for eight years. He earned his medical degree from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at the university of Illinois-Chicago in Peoria, Illinois. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Dr. Hufford, and to care for the community of Trenton and the region,” Dr. Johnson said. “Saint Luke’s Health System is a great health system, and Wright Memorial Hospital is a great hospital. I’m looking forward to being a part of the team.”
Dr. Johnson is originally from Norfolk, VA, but lived all over the country while his father was in the navy. He and his wife Belinda will be moving to the region from Mount Vernon, Ill. Together, they have nine adult children, two Yorkies, and a Siamese cat. Is his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys blacksmithing, bladesmithing, and fishing.
