The Gallatin Board of Aldermen accepted a change order for the new water plant at its meeting Monday evening. The order will allow additional changes to the electric system.

Public Works Director Mark Morey reported Ross Construction completed tying the new water plant lines to the current water line system and raw water line system. The city opted to put in and insert a valve to complete the process to avoid having to shut off water to residents.

Morey said a few minor electric outages were addressed the past few weeks and the old water plant required repairs due to a severe lightning storm.

Morey also reported street crews will patch potholes. A 55-gallon barrel of crack seal was purchased for crack repairs on Richardson and Olive.

City Administrator Tony Stonecypher announced Kim Ness has been hired as the Assistant City Clerk and will start October 16th.

Police Chief Mark Richards reported the police department assisted with the Chautauqua and homecoming parades with minor problems.

Mayor Barb Ballew thanked Kate Chrisman and committee members for putting on Chautauqua.
