Donations given at yesterday’s spaghetti dinner in the Trenton high school commons raised approximately $1,800 for a scholarship fund.
The money will go into the Jose Sanchez Barron the fourth scholarship fund which is managed by the Trenton R-9 School District.
One $500 scholarship will be awarded each year to a student who enrolls in any college or university as any type of music major.
Band Instructor Tim Gilham said members of the Jose Barron family were in attendance Sunday and expressed their gratitude for the generosity shown and financial support given to the scholarship fund.
Others who wish to make a contribution can do so by sending a check to the Jose Barron Scholarship Fund in care of the Trenton R-9 School District office at 1607 Normal in Trenton.
