The Friends of the Jewett-Norris Library will hold a book sale next week with books and other items on display on the third floor of the library in Trenton.

Barb Spencer with the Friends of the Library tells that set up for the sale starts April 7th. She says North Central Missouri College basketball players volunteer to help carry boxes of books to help prepare for the sale. She notes the Friends of the Library need grocery bags and boxes to use for the sale.

The sale will start next Monday, April 9 at noon only for Friends of the Library members. Spencer notes applications to become a member for the Friends of the Library are available at the library.

The general public can purchase items next Tuesday through Friday, April 10 through 13 from 9 o’clock in the morning to 5 o’clock in the evening. Spencer says those attending the sale only have to pay a one dollar per bag during “Fill a Bag Day” Saturday, April 14th. There is a standard pricing list for items at the sale on the other days, which includes hardback, paperback, and children’s books; puzzles and games; toys; DVDs; and VHS tapes.

Cathie Smith with the Friends of the Library said that the book sale generally brings in $2,000 per year, which goes to the library to be used throughout the year. She says the money has been used to provide cookies at Christmas-time and during Library Appreciation Week as well as to money for matching funds for grants.
