Former Trenton man takes command of Navy base in Italy

Former Trenton resident, Captain Brent Trickel, is the new Commanding Officer of naval air station Sigonella at Sicily, Italy.

Sigonella is a Navy installation and an Italian Air Force base, which is the Navy’s second largest security command.

Sigonella is well placed to support operations by the US sixth fleet, other US military units, and US allies and coalition partners.

Captain Trickel addressed the audience in both English and Italian during the change of command ceremony.

Brent Trickel and his wife Marla have two children, Ryan and Erin. Ryan attends the University of Missouri, and is in naval ROTC. Brent Trickel is the son of Evelyn Trickel of Trenton and the late Bob Trickel as well as the brother of David Trickel of Trenton.
