Fireworks committee in Trenton accepting donations for Independence Day celebration

Community Fireworks Display

A local committee is accepting donations for a public fireworks display in Trenton to celebrate Independence Day. Black Silo Winery is partnering with the committee, providing a location for the display, and securing the pyrotechnician to set off fireworks the night of July 3rd.  Modine Manufacturing will also be among sponsors for the fireworks show.

Committee Chairperson Diane Lowrey emphasizes that community members and organizations are being asked to donate rather than relying mostly on business contributions due to many businesses facing challenges this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She acknowledges many businesses who have supported the event in the past will continue to do so, and donations from businesses will be accepted.

About 35 hundred dollars needs to be raised to help pay for the Trenton fireworks display. Contributions can be left with Lowrey at the Trenton Republican-Times Newspaper office or left at or mailed to the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office at 611 East Ninth Street, Post Office Box 233 in Trenton. Checks can be made to the Chamber with “fireworks” written on the memo line.
