Firefighters from Chillicothe and Chula responded to a grass fire early Sunday evening at 9801 Livingston County Road 2595.  The fire was called in by the property owner Joan Hopper.

A report from Chillicothe’s department quoted the owner as saying they were burning the fence line Saturday and the wind must have rekindled the fire on to the neighbor’s property to the west. That property is owned by the Oscar Cooke Family.

Chula Fire was at the scene with a brush truck and tanker and Chillicothe responded with two (wildland) units and four personnel.  A backpack blower and small amount of water was used to extinguish the fire.

Chillicothe firefighters were at the scene nearly one hour Sunday.
