Trenton and Grundy County Rural Firefighters assisted medical personnel in getting a young woman from the bank of the Thompson River to an ambulance on Wednesday afternoon.
Lieutenant Doug Franklin explained the young woman received an ankle or leg injury from jumping into shallow water. Franklin said a group of young adults were at the scene and authorities were contacted.
A basket and ropes were used to get the young woman from the riverbank to the ambulance.
