Fire damages machine shed west of Trenton

Firefighters described the damage as “major” when fire consumed a machine shed west of Trenton.

Crews from three departments went to the scene before 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at 847 Southwest 3rd Street which is near the Grundy-Daviess County line. Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District listed the owner as Brandon Eads.

Upon arrival, firefighters said moderate smoke was billowing from the machine shed near the residence. The fire department reported noted two hand lines (1 and ¾ inch) were deployed and a defensive attack was established after a partial collapse of the roof to the shed.

Firefighters were at the scene for a little over two hours. The damage was contained to the machine shed with no other structures involved with the cause of the blaze undetermined.

Assisting the Grundy County Rural District were the Trenton Fire Department, Jamesport Fire and Rescue, and Grundy County Ambulance.
