The patrol reports an Excelsior Springs resident was seriously injured when the pickup truck he was driving was hit from behind by another pickup truck near Cameron.
Fifty-seven-year-old John Swoboda of Excelsior Springs was taken to Liberty Hospital. The driver of the other pickup, 20-year old Collin Switlik of Cameron, was not reported hurt.
The accident happened late Saturday night on Highway 69 at the north edge of Cameron as both vehicles were northbound when the pickup operated by Switlik hit the rear of the truck driven by Swoboda, resulting in moderate damage to both vehicles.
Swoboda was wearing a seat belt but Switlik was not.
