The bridge deck replacement project that rerouted traffic last year still has one final phase of the project to complete.

Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin the final phase Saturday, April 1. During the work, Interstate 35 and U.S. Route 36 may be reduced to one lane in each direction around the bridges so crews can access the structural steel girders under the new bridge decks. These girders will be blasted clean, and then recoated with a high-quality paint that will help prevent deterioration over the life of the bridge.

The contractor plans to work overnight from approximately 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday and around the clock on Sunday until the project is completed.
