Trenton R-9 Board of Education President Doug Franklin says he is withdrawing as a candidate for the school board in the upcoming election.
Franklin has accepted a position to serve as the pastor of a church in another community and says his family has lived in Trenton for 12 years and will move at the end of June.
Franklin encourages continued support of the school district through Bright Futures Trenton. He also encourages future school boards to keep students first.
