Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court has busy docket

Several cases were processed Thursday in Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

21-year-old Clyde Vernon Foster of Trenton admitted to a probation violation.

The probation was continued with the requirement Foster complete court-ordered detention sanctions with the department of corrections. The circuit court retains jurisdiction for 120 days. His original charges involved two counts of distributing or delivery not more than five grams of marijuana.

A Spickard resident, 58-year-old Linda Sue Wilcox pleaded guilty to an amended charge involving unlawful possession of a firearm. She received a seven-year prison sentence. Execution of the sentence was suspended and Ms. Wilcox was given five years probation. Online court information also indicates probation was suspended for an alleged probation – parole violation and a warrant was issued.

35-year-old Emily Hendee of Trenton was placed on five years probation after imposition of sentence was suspended. She pleaded guilty yesterday to one charge of nonsupport of minor children and two felony counts of passing bad checks.

Trenton resident 42-year-old Christopher Shawn Hershberger pleaded guilty to an amended charge of possession of a controlled substance. Imposition of sentence was suspended and Hershberger was placed on five years probation. He’s also to pay $300 to the law enforcement restitution fund.

47-year-old Valerie Kay Fraser of St. Joseph received a sentence of eight days in jail on two counts of misdemeanor stealing. The sentences run concurrently. She has pleaded guilty to thefts valued at under $500.

Guilty pleas were submitted by 23-year-old Nicholas Keith Martin of Trenton – charged with one count of second-degree burglary; 34-year old Robert Brandon of Trenton –charged with delivery of a controlled substance and 34-year-old Levi Grant Bell of Trenton – charged with second-degree burglary. Sentencing for each of these defendants is scheduled May 11th in the circuit court.

Admitting to violations of their respective probation were Linda Collins of Trenton, Timothy Harding of Trenton, and Brandi Peniston of Chillicothe.

Additional conditions were applied by the court to each of the probations.

Probation for 34-year-old Samuel Storer of Trenton has been suspended by the court after he allegedly failed to appear yesterday for a probation violation hearing.

33-year-old Timothy Nguyen of Trenton requested, and was approved, to have a change of venue on three felony counts.

The cases will be transferred from Grundy to the Harrison County circuit court at Bethany. Nguyen faces charges of resisting arrest by fleeing; tampering with a motor vehicle; and possession of burglary tools.
