The Missouri Department of Agriculture will hold a training session for individuals interested in becoming certified industrial hemp samplers.

Training will be held at the University of Missouri Forage Systems Research Center east of Linneus the afternoon of March 24th at 1 o’clock.

Field Specialist in Agronomy Valerie Tate says certified industrial hemp samplers must complete an approved training course and pass an exam. The exam will be administered after the session on March 24th.

Individuals may submit an application to the Missouri Department of Agriculture after passing the exam. After they are approved and receive a certification letter, they will be authorized to collect compliance samples for the registered industrial hemp producers that hire them.

More information on approved training courses and sampler protocol can be found on the Missouri Department of Agriculture website. Register for the event at Linneus by sending an email to [email protected] or calling 573-751-8981 and leave a voice mail.

Tate says the messages must include a participant’s name, phone number, and county of residence.
