Defendants receive prison time in Division One of Grundy County court

Some of the defendants received time in prison when they appeared yesterday in Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

On a change of venue from Harrison County, Brady Harville of Bethany pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary while also admitting to violations of probation. In one case, Harville was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to make restitution of over two thousand dollars. On the other cases, probation was revoked.

The stay of execution of a previous sentence was set aside. Harville was sentenced to six years in prison on each of two other counts: second-degree burglary and felony stealing with those terms concurrently. In another case with three felony counts, Harville received four years in prison for possession of a controlled substance, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property.

Those sentences also are concurrent with each other. The court noted terms of six years and four years are to be consecutive. The court retains jurisdiction for 120 days.

Trenton resident Samuel Storer admits to probation violation. Probation was revoked and a stay of execution on a previous sentence was set aside. Storer was ordered to serve ten years in prison on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Patrick Shaun Michael of Trenton pleaded guilty to a felony drug possession charge and was sentenced to seven years with the department of corrections. The court retains jurisdiction for 120 days and recommends institutional treatment. Violations of adult and child protection orders were continued until October 12th.

A Trenton resident, Stanley Patterson, admitted to probation violation and probation was revoked. His original charges were driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked. The court retains jurisdiction for 120 days while requesting Patterson receive institutional treatment.

Admitting to violations of probation was Alexander James Curtis of Trenton and his probation was revoked, Curtis was sentenced to five years in prison on a felony drug possession charge; four years on each of two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary. The prison terms are concurrent with each other.

Trenton resident Lucas Allen Griffin pleaded guilty to violation of order of protection for an adult and third-degree assault. Imposition of sentence was suspended. Griffin was put on five years probation and ordered to pay $300 to a law enforcement restitution fund.

Wheeling resident Patrick Oyler admitted to probation violations. Supplemental probation was continued with Oyler to complete 120 days court-ordered detention with the corrections department. His original charge was nonsupport of a minor.

Brian St. Onge changed his plea to guilty on a nonsupport of a minor charge. Imposition of sentence was suspended and St. Onge was put on five years probation.

Admitting to violations of probation were Gregory Worthy of Trenton, and David Banks of Stewartsville. Each had their probations continue with additional conditions.

Worthy originally was charged with driving while intoxicated-aggravated offender. Banks originally was charged with sexual misconduct involving a child under 15.
