The City of Chillicothe reminds residents that March 1st is the deadline to register pets.
Pet registration fees prior to the deadline are $7.50 for spayed or neutered and $15 for those not spayed or neutered. Pet registration fees after March 1st will have a late fee imposed, with spayed or neutered at $11.25 and those not spayed or neutered at $22.50.
The City of Chillicothe reports reasons to license pets to include it is the law, it proves pets have been vaccinated, pets have a better chance of being returned if lost, pets will be safer at the animal shelter, and the animal shelter is supported by registration fees.
The City of Chillicothe also reminds residents that golf carts and utility terrain vehicles need to be registered. Residents should bring proof of insurance and the $15 fee to the Chillicothe City Hall to receive a 2020 registration sticker.
There is no set deadline for golf cart and UTV registration.
