Daviess County Public Water Supply District One reports water service has been restored to areas south of the Grand River and south of the old town of Pattonsburg.

Any customers who have not had their water service restored are asked to contact the Daviess County Public Water Supply District One at Pattonsburg.

A precautionary boil advisory for cooking and drinking water will be in effect until further notice.

A water supply district spokesperson said efforts are being made now to build pressure in the lines, therefore, flushing the lines is not planned in the near term but will be done at some time.

The water supply district had problems since Friday afternoon.

Engineers from various areas of the state and officials from the Daviess County Public Water Supply Districts Two and Three, as well as Caldwell County Public Water Supply District Two assisted in the efforts to restore the water service.

The cause of the outage has not been identified. But the spokesperson said it was not a broken main.

The district did experience air in the lines.
