Crowder State Park will celebrate Great American Backyard Campout this Saturday, June 24.

Natural Resource Manager Anna Persell tells that Explorer Hour will be at 10 o’clock that morning.

The walk will start at the amphitheater and go a short distance on Tall Oaks Trail.

A Nature Touch Table will be at the campground shower house at 3 o’clock that afternoon and individuals can come by and look at the nature items set out on the tables.

The Spider Sniff Program will start at the amphitheater 9 o’clock that night which includes a hunt for spiders and there will also be a Creatures of the Night Hike the night of July 1st at 9 o’clock.

The guided hike will start at the amphitheater, and participants will learn about the nocturnal animals found in the park.

Persell says there is nothing planned at the park for July 4 and all activities are free and open to the public.

More information about events at Crowder State Park can be found on the park’s Facebook page.
