COVID-19 Update: Grundy County reports 7 new cases, 21 deaths; Sullivan County 3 new cases, 8 deaths

The Grundy County Health Department, in a report released Monday morning, says the number of active COVID-19 cases is steady with Saturday’s number after coming down in recent days.

As of Monday morning, the health department reports 96 active cases of COVID-19 out of a total of 667 cases for the year to date total. That figure on the positive cases is up by seven from Saturday. Of the overall total, 487 cases have been confirmed with the rest being considered probable.

The Grundy County Health Department has reported 21 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Sullivan County Health Department on Sunday night confirmed three additional positive cases of COVID-19 raising Sullivan County’s total to 641. The health department reported two are active probable cases, 27 are listed as active, and there are 8 deaths.

As the ninth month comes to a close in tracking the number of COVID-19 cases statewide, the Department of Health and Senior Services dashboard Monday morning noted nearly 300,000 since testing began. The average number of cases each week in Missouri has come down to 2,700. That’s for the most recent period of November 21st through 27th. The positivity rate for Missouri is 20 percent.
