A Trenton man accused of driving a pickup and hitting the side of a business building has been sentenced in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.
Braden Mark Spicer of rural Trenton pleaded guilty on Tuesday to an amended charge of misdemeanor, leaving the scene of an accident, and to one count of operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident. Three other counts were dismissed by the prosecuting attorney.
With the plea, imposition of a sentence was suspended, and Spicer was placed on one-year probation and is to donate $300 to the law enforcement fund and pay court costs. Money will be taken from the posted bond. The court also ordered Spicer to complete two treatment programs and follow any other requirements of North Missouri Court Services. The programs are listed as alcohol and drug education and restorative justice. Early the morning of February 13, a police report said a pickup left 9th street, drove onto the sidewalk, and struck a window and front side of Harvest Moon.
Trenton resident Kyle Nathan Wilson appeared in court to enter a not guilty plea to five counts stemming from incidents police investigated on Friday. Wilson is charged with two felony counts of domestic assault, resisting arrest, creating a substantial risk to another, peace disturbance, and supplying liquor to two minors. The court case was continued until June 22 for a bond hearing. Bond remains at $30,000 cash.
