Community of Marceline announces restrictions, closures and cancellations due to Coronavirus concerns

  • The Country Nights Father / Daughter Dance scheduled for Saturday, March 21st is canceled.
  • Bristol Manor is temporarily closed to all visitors and volunteers.
  • Pioneer Skilled Nursing has modified their visitor status as follows:
    • Family member visitors over 12 years of age visiting a resident at end of life or in hospice (limited to one at a time)
    • Outside healthcare providers serving current residents
    • Resident Ombudsman
    • Essential vendors and delivery personnel.

    All allowed visitors must sign in and complete a wellness self-check upon entering the building and adhere to infection control and personal protective equipment instructions.

  • The Walt Disney Hometown Museum is closed until further notice.
  • The Marceline City Market normally held on Tuesdays at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled until further notice.
  • Trivia Night scheduled for April 4th at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled.
  • The Transportation Advisory Committee, Green Hills Regional Planning Commission and Solid Waste District Meetings scheduled for March 26th have been canceled.
  • The Bethany Baptist Free Community Dinner scheduled for March 24th has been canceled.
  • The Nutrition Center at the Marceline Housing Authority will be closed to congregate meals beginning March 17th.  The kitchen will still be cooking but if someone needs a meal they will have to call into 376-3103 and request a meal. Meals can be picked up outside the nutrition site no dine-in. the nutrition site will still be delivering shut-in meals to those who need them.
  • The Walsworth Job Fair scheduled for March 18th at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled.
  • The Wild Turkey Banquet scheduled for March 21st at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled.
  • The White Tail Banquet scheduled for March 28th at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled.
  • Trivia Night scheduled for April 4th at the Walsworth Community Center has been canceled.

City:

  • The Marceline PD has suspended response to courtesy vehicle lock-out calls (leaving keys in a vehicle) until further notice except for emergencies (i.e. small children/pets locked inside vehicle).

Marceline R-V & Father McCartan Memorial Schools:

  • Effective Monday, March 16th, no outside visitors will be allowed to enter the school buildings.  Parents/guardians who need to pick up or drop off a student from the building should practice the following protocol:

o     Early Learning Center (ELC) – Parents will enter the building and not pass the entry gate.

o     Elementary / Middle / High School – Parents of students who need to pick up a student during the school day are asked to call the student’s respective building office and the secretary will call the student to the office.  Parents may wait in their vehicles until the student comes to the front door.  The secretary will sign your student out and make sure the child safely reaches their parent.

Parents arriving after the start of the school day should enter the building alone and go to the office.  Parents are asked to call the office and report any necessary information in advance of arrival.

  • The Father McCartan Memorial School will be closed effective March 18th and will remain closed until April 3 or until further notice.
  • The High School Winter Sports Banquet scheduled for March 24th is postponed with a make-up date of TBD
