“Christmas Around the Square” set for November 17th in Gallatin

A variety of activities are planned for Gallatin Saturday, November 17th when the holiday promotion is presented “Christmas Around the Square.”

There will be various food court vendors, a craft and vendors fair, a baking contest includes a fundraiser for the Patrick McBroom scholarship fund, and Midwest Dance Synergy will have a dance performance. Other attractions include strolling carolers and cartoon characters, a balloon artist, old time photo booth, kids games, train rides, and more.

Santa is scheduled to arrive at 2 o’clock in Gallatin with pictures taken by Nicole Gann. Children also can enter a drawing for a chance to win a bicycle. The contest also is for one child to be selected to assist Santa in flipping the switch for the Christmas tree lighting. Mayor Barb Ballew will do the countdown for the lighting ceremony. Pastor Rober Nelson will give remarks for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gallatin high school band will perform music. Winners of the baking contest will be announced as the children’s drawing. The festival of lights parade at Gallatin begins at 5 o’clock.

November 17th concludes with the Gallatin Theater League presenting the play “A Double Wide Texas Christmas” at 7 o’clock in the Courter Theater.
