A Chillicothe teen has been placed on probation after receiving a suspended prison sentence Tuesday in Livingston County Circuit Court.

Sixteen-year-old Matthew Ryan Miller pleaded guilty in August to one felony count of assault in the first degree. At that time, the prosecuting attorney recommended a suspended sentence in exchange for the guilty plea. A sentencing assessment report was requested and on Tuesday, a 15-year prison sentence was ordered but that was suspended by the court in favor of five years of supervised probation.

Court information shows Miller was certified to be charged as an adult regarding this case. Authorities have reported Miller and another juvenile assaulted a third boy by allegedly choking him and attempting to stab him February 2nd of this year.
