Chillicothe Police Department reports on two accidents, one driver arrested

The Chillicothe Police Department is reporting two separate accidents, one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday.

In an accident that happened Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at Cowgill and South Street.  When officers arrived on the scene, they reported a vehicle driven by Matthew Jenkins that was heading south on Cowgill Street failed to stop at the intersection.  Jenkins proceeded into the intersection of South Street and collided with a vehicle driven by Sidney Bowes.

Jenkins was arrested for driving while revoked, fail to maintain financial responsibility and no seatbelt.  He was transported to the Police Department where he was processed and released on Municipal Citations.

Bowes was issued a Municipal Citation for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

In an accident occurring Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury accident at the intersection of Polk and Grandview.

Officers reported that a vehicle driven by Mary Oertwig was northbound on Grandview and struck a vehicle that heading west on Polk Street driven by Roger Putnam.  The Oertwig vehicle was attempting to turn left onto Polk Street when the accident occurred.

Officers reported moderate damage to both vehicles.
