Chillicothe Police Department investigate man trespassing, theft from business and an accident

The Chillicothe Police Department has released information regarding incidents on May 15th and 16th.

Officer Jeffery Allen reports a man was arrested after police responded to the area of Polk and Broadway the night of May 15th in regards to a man walking through yards and looking inside mailboxes. Officers reportedly found drugs and paraphernalia on the man. He was processed and taken to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

Officer Matthew McCurry reports investigation continues after police took a stealing report from a business on Business Highway 36 Monday morning, May 16. A near felony amount of fuel was allegedly taken out of a large truck.

McCurry says officers responded to the scene of an accident near Ryan and Second streets the night of May 16th in which a rock truck ran into a ditch, and the driver fled on foot. The investigation revealed the accident was a failed attempt to steal the vehicle. Investigation continues.
