The Chillicothe Police Department was very busy during the first six days of June with a myriad of calls.

Officers arrested Zachary Kerns in the 200 block of Williams on a Missouri State Probation/Parole violation warrant. Kerns was transported to the Police Department where he was processed and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail. 

Officers were dispatched to conduct a well-being check in the 1000 block of Polk Street. The male resident was found to be deceased of what appeared to be natural causes. The body was removed from the scene by Lindley Funeral Home.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Youssef Drive in reference to property damage report.  Upon arrival, it was determined that property damage had occurred to an unoccupied vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

 Norman Justin Caselman surrendered himself to the Chillicothe Police Department on a Livingston County Warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance. Caselman was processed and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.

 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Cowgill Street.  W/M William Jennings Ross IV was arrested for driving while suspended, displaying the plates of another, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.  Ross was transported to Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail pending formal charges.

Officer’s arrested Adam Jeffery Tanner at Danner Park, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tanner was placed under arrest and transported to the Police Department where he was processed and released on municipal citations.

Officers assisted Livingston County Deputies on a warrant arrest for Jason R. Gerdson in the 200 block of Jackson Street. Chillicothe Officers discovered illegal substances and paraphernalia in the residence as well and additional charges are pending. 

 Officers arrested Norman Leakey in the 1000 block of Graves Street on a Mercer County Warrant charging him with failure to appear on three counts of passing bad checks. Leakey was transported to the Police Department where he was processed and released after posting bond.

Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle non-injury accident on a private parking lot in the 800 block of Business 36 Highway. Officers reported that a vehicle driven by Augusta Klein was backing from a parking stall and struck a vehicle driven by Clayton Daley causing minor damage.  Officers also arrested Augusta Klein on a Chillicothe Municipal Warrant for failure to register annually. Klein was transported to the Police Department where she was processed and released after posting bond.

Officers cited Alexander M. Andrus for Limitation of a particular breed of animal within the city limits. Andrus was also ordered to remove the dog from the city.

 Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Elm Street. The incident was determined to have been verbal and no arrests were made.

Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle non-injury accident on a private parking lot in the 1000 block of Graves Street. Officers reported that a vehicle driven by Kendra Ballantyne was backing from a parking stall and struck a vehicle driven by Hannah Sherrow causing minor damage.
